SEPTEMBER FUN
On Saturday 6th September, the Friends of Gipton Wood hosted a community event with a lively Forest School and a bring and share stall with produce from our gardens and kitchens. Over 60 local residents came and enjoyed the day. The Forest School, led by Dora, Laura and Christine explored the themes of Fire, Water and Earth, introducing children to the delights of making potions, perfumes and paints (Water). Reseeding the area of bare land left by recent work on the electric substation allowed us to address the theme of Earth and the School ended with a lovely session roasting apples before smothering them in cinnamon and sugar. Delicious!!

We held our first bring and share stall, with a lovely selection of apples, tomatoes and other garden goodies, as well as chutneys and pickles and a variety of cakes. As always the coffee and cake provided throughout the morning went down very well.
Thanks to everyone who came along and contributed to the day. Over £70 was raised to contribute to our funds.
