Leaping into Spring

We Leapt into Spring on 7 March at our Rhythm of Nature community event!

The sun was shining and there were exciting signs of spring all around the wood to notice and explore.

We created woodland crafts using a range of woodworking tools and then decorating with wools and pens. The tap tap tapping of the little hammers was in competition with the twanging tap tap of the woodpeckers!

Peeling sticks in preparation for our campfire cooking was another task. We twizzled wild garlic damper bread around our sticks, and after baking on the fire, drizzled our warm treats with oil and honey. Seasonal, finger-licking and tasty!

The Volunteer morning running alongside was on a mission to spring clean the woodland – from bins, to lampposts and paths. All spruced up ready for the year ahead. It was a lovely community event on a perfect sunny Spring day, and we all came together and shared wonderful homemade cakes, biscuits and drinks.
