Come and enjoy an ancient Woodland in the hearT of Leeds

Gipton Wood is a beautiful ancient oak woodland covering 8 hectares at the heart of Oakwood in north-east Leeds. Teeming with wildlife and a wide variety of ancient woodland plants and fungi, there is always something new to see in every season.
Criss-crossed with paths and holding a bronze-age ring-ditch, it is perfect for exploring and getting close to nature, a natural playground for children and adults alike.

We are a group of volunteers from the local community who work together for the conservation, improvement and promotion of Gipton Wood. We run conservation activities and community events in the Wood throughout the year to help it thrive, for nature and the community, now and into the future.
