6 September: family event

Come join us for some Woodland Magic on 6 September!

Our next Volunteer Action Morning and Rhythm of Nature family event will take place on Saturday 6th September.

When & Where:

  • Enter at the green arch on Gipton Wood Road
  • Volunteer session runs 10:00–12:00
  • Family event runs 10:30-12:30

What’s Happening:

  • Sycamore pulling and litter picking (10:00-12:00)
  • Woodland Magic family event (10:30-12:30): woodland crafts, campfire, sowing wildflowers around the new substation, and planting acorns to grow on
  • Harvest produce table: bring along any surplus fruit, veg, jams, chutneys, or homemade produce to swap, donate, or buy. Proceeds go to Friends of Gipton Wood.
  • And of course, the usual tea and cake at 11:00!

Come along to volunteer, swap or buy homemade goodies, or keep the kids busy with fun activities from Dora. There’s something for everyone.

  • bramble pulling

    The July Volunteer Action Morning concentrated on bramble pulling, extending the area which was worked on in 2024, in order to help the bluebells in the area flourish.  It was a highly satisfying morning with the brambles lifting easily from the wood floor.
