January Volunteer Action Morning

Lead activity: Species conservation

Join us on Saturday 3rd January, 10-12, for our January Volunteer Action Morning, meeting at the green arch entrance at the end of Gipton Wood Road.

In January, we will be acting to save Wood Sorrel. Wood Sorrel used to be prevalent across the Wood, but in recent years it has been disappearing rapidly under heavy leaf litter from Sycamore and Beech. We’ll be clearing leaves from the main remaining patch to hopefully enable it to recover and start spreading again.

There will also be the opportunity to help our Ranger check bird boxes around the Wood, as well as litter picking.

Activities for all ages, experience and ability, so come along and give it a go! Tea and cake at 11 as always!
